Addendum grew naturally out of the momentum No Instructions Gallery has felt since opening in May 2025. The Bay View neighborhood of Milwaukee has been welcoming and engaged, and the enthusiasm around contemporary art in the neighborhood made the decision to expand an easy one. When the space next door to No Instructions became available, the opportunity was too good to pass up. Addendum and No Instructions Gallery will work collaboratively as well as independently to present a range of diverse voices from the midwest and beyond. Co-directed by James Stepanek and Tanner MacArthur, Addendum will launch its programming on January 30, 2026 with a reception from 5-9 pm. The exhibition Thinking of a Place will feature work by local artists Jimmy Cobb, Ellie Hogan, Meg White, Caesar Nguyen and Reese Rousseau.

James Stepanek is a creative director and curator living in Bay View. He received his BFA from Kent State University and has worked to build No Instructions Gallery into a growing hub for emerging and established artists in Milwaukee. Tanner MacArthur is an artist and curator working between Milwaukee, WI and Brooklyn, NY. He received his BA from Lawrence University and MFA from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee.
